Jabez Henry Stevens was the son of James Stevens and Mary Ann Spittle.

Jabez was born on Thursday 5 October 1848 in Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

He was christened on Monday 25 December 1848 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Jabez married Maria Waldron on Sunday 14 March 1869 in St James Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Joseph Taylor and Mary Ann Taylor.
