Stanley Chew was the son of Simon Chew and Mabel Agnes Seed.

Stanley was born on Wednesday 3 June 1914.

Stanley married Mabel Harrison in 1940 in Low Moor Parish Church, Clitheroe, Lancashire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Mabel Harrison:

- Alan Chew	born in 1943 (date suppressed).
- Michael Chew	born in 1951 (date suppressed).

Stanley was a Policeman and during the 1950s, 60s and early 70s a weights and measures Inspector (Trading Standards).

Stanley died when he was 65 years old, on Friday 25 April 1980 in Tenerife.  

He was killed in the Tenerife Air Disaster along with his wife, Mabel.   The plane crashed into a mountain 5,500 ft. high at 300 mph during a landing approach to Tenerife Airport.   All 146 people aboard died.
