Arthur Pool Terry was the son of George Pool Terry and Mary Haley.

Arthur was born on Tuesday 11 December 1877 in Leeds, Yorkshire.

He was christened on Thursday 21 February 1889 at Leeds, All Hallows, Yorkshire.

Arthur married Mary Eliza Heckingbottom in 1900 in the Leeds Registration District (Jun Quarter).

He had the following children from his marriage to Mary Eliza Heckingbottom:

- Walter Terry	born in 1900 in Leeds, Yorkshire.
- George Winter Terry	born on 29 November 1902 in Leeds, Yorkshire.
- Arthur Preston Terry	born in 1904 at Preston, Lancashire.

Arthur's second marriage was to Minna Phillips in 1918 in the Bridgend Registration District (Mar Quarter).

He had the following children from his marriage to Minna Phillips:

- Mary D. Terry	born in 1922 at the Bridgend Registration District (Mar Qtr).
