in St Marys Church, Clitheroe, Lancashire.
John was head of the well known firm of John Bleazard and Son, Builders and Contractors, who played a foremost part in the erection of some of the best buildings and residential property in Clitheroe and neighbourhood. Amongst the many enterprises which he untertook were the erection of Knuck Knowles, the houses in Ribblesdale and Park Avenues. He entirely reconstructed the Primrose Bleach Works and carried out extensions to the Primrose Ring Mill and Victoria Mill, Chatburn, where he supervised the erection of numerous houses.
In the 1890's, the firm was responsible for the restoration of St Mary's Parish Church, and in more recent times, the erection of the Conservative Club in Castle Street, Barclays Bank Chambers, The Pendle Junior School and the Fire Station in the same vicinity. These buildings will remain an enduring monument to John Bleazard.
Prominent in local freemasonry, he was past master of both the Limestone Rock (369) and Royal Forest (401) Slaidburn lodges also as an officer of Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire. A conservative in politics, he was identified with the Clitheroe Club.
