Jabez Spittle was the son of Peter Spittle and Rosanna Powers.

Jabez was born around 1789.

He was christened on Monday 16 February 1789 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Details of Jabez's marriage are not known.

Jabez's second marriage was to Ann Kendrick on Monday 3 May 1813 in St Matthew's Church, Walsall, Staffordshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Ann Kendrick:

- Frederick Spittle	born around 1814.
- John Spittle	born around 1816.
- Mary Ann Spittle	born around 1823.
- Charlotte Spittle	born around 1827.
- Henry Spittle	born around 1829.
- Alfred Spittle	born around 1832.
- Emma Spittle	born around 1833 in Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Jabez was a Gun Lock Filer.

Jabez died when he was about 70 years old, on Thursday 22 September 1859.
