	 M.I. at Methley. Treasured memories of Abel of Methley died aged 63 years. Thy will be done. Also Elizabeth, his beloved wife, died aged 84 years. At Rest.
	 6th January 1894 - Castleford Telegraph. Abel is supposed to have died by drowning after a mining accident, for which he felt some responsibility, by throwing himself off Methley Bridge. At the Inquest, held at Mill Moor Tavern, Methley, on the body of Abel aged 70, who committed suicide on Saturday by throwing himself in the River Aire. He recently had an illness which left as brain infection, and since then his movements had to be carefully watched. On Saturday, he left the house to attend to the greenhouse fire and was seen to wander by the river. Body was found on Sunday. Deceased was one of the family of Jennings connected with the Great Jennens case which had long been a topic of conversation.
