Hubert David Thomas was the son of John Thomas and Annie Elizabeth Ambrose.

David was born on Monday 30 December 1889 in 6, Suffolk Street, Jarrow, South Shields and Durham.

He was christened on Thursday 6 February 1890 at Christ Church, Jarrow Grange, South Shields and Durham.

David married Ada Turnor on Saturday 14 April 1917 in St Augustine's Church, Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The witnesses at the marriage were John Thomas (David's father) and Benjamin Turnor (Ada's father).
David was 27 years old and Ada was 28 years old when they married.

David's second marriage was to Anne Beatrice (Bugsy) Lavender on Friday 28 June 1946 in the Register Office, Birmingham.
The witnesses at the marriage were Mary L.Thomas (Bugsy's daughter) and V.F.Watkins (David's brother-in-law).
David was 56 years old and Anne was 50 years old when they married.

David was an Analytical Chemist and Copper Refiner. He was a Works Manager.
On the 1939 Census, he was a Technical Manager & Chemist (Metal) and an A.R.P. Control Officer at ***** and Part Time Section 2 gro*****.

David died when he was 89 years old, on Monday 19 November 1979 in 34, Oakham Road, Harborne, Birmingham, B17 9DG.   The cause of his death was Pneumonia and Haematemesis.   Mary Lavender Thomas (his daughter-in-law) was the informant of his death.

He was buried on Monday 26 November 1979 in Lodge Hill Crematorium, Selly Oak, Birmingham.
