George Thomas was the son of John Thomas and Mary Bowen.

George was born on Thursday 26 March 1829 in Copperworks, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

He was christened on Saturday 23 May 1829 at Capel Als, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

George married Elizabeth Evans on Sunday 25 August 1850 in St Augustine's Church, Walton on the Hill, West Derby, Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were William Rees (George's brother-in-law) and Rachel Rees (George's sister).

He had the following children from his marriage to Elizabeth Evans:

He was buried on Tuesday 6 July 1880 in St Michael's Church, Garston, Liverpool, Lancashire.

His gravestone (see 'Pictures' link above) had the following inscription:

In Affectionate Remembrance of

George Thomas
who fell asleep in Jesus July 1st 1880
aged 51 years.
Mark the perfect man and behold the
upright for the end of that man is peace

Also William 3rd son of the above
born Sept 4th 1859 died Novr 26th 1896.
