Mary died when she was about 70 years old, on Thursday 10 April 1856 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.   The cause of her death was Phthsis (tuberculosis).   George Thomas (her son) was the informant of her death.

However, the age on her Death Certificate is shown as 75 years old.

She was buried on Monday 14 April 1856 in St Hilary's Church, Claremount Road, Wallasey.
