Thomas (Tom) Cundall was the son of Richard Cundall and Elizabeth Gill.

Tom was born on Monday 3 January 1876 in Blackburn, Lancashire.

He was christened on Sunday 26 March 1876 at St Marys Church, Blackburn, Lancashire.

The places where he lived have been identified as:

From To Place Source of Information
1881  1891  44, Grimshaw Park (Butchers Shop), Blackburn, Lancashire.  Notes 1 & 2.
1895  1901  Manitoba, Canada.  Note 3.

Details of Tom's occupation are not known.

Tom died when he was 25 years old, on Wednesday 4 December 1901 in the farm in Manitoba, Canada.   The cause of his death was Pneumonia.

He was buried in 1901 in Dundas Cemetery, Manitoba, Canada.

A point that Donald Cundall (born 1938) has been unable to verify is that his grandfather Oswald Cundall (1885-1969) told Donald that they had to buy his brother Thomas Cundall out of the Army.  It is thought that Richard and Thomas left Blackburn for Manitoba in Canada to get Thomas out of the Army or that he was AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave).

Oswald indicated that his brother had been to Africa, where his father Richard (1853-1924) had contemplated settling, and that they had chosen to settle in Canada where the natives were more friendly than the African natives, who did not like Englishmen.
